Freya is the owner and director of The Giles Agency, an Asia-based communications agency specialising in end-to-end support for marcom teams.

Freya has over 15 years’ experience as a copywriter and produces marketing copy and business communications for start-ups through to large multinationals. Clients in Hong Kong include AIA, Swire, Hsin Chong, Lane Crawford and Dunhill. Freya also works as a trainer, helping clients to master the art and science of communication through a range of practical, hands-on courses.

From penning angst-filled poems in her adolescence to landing her first paid writing gig to founding her own agency, Freya has always had a passion for communications. Raised in Hong Kong, she finished her secondary education in the UK, and studied French and Philosophy at Leeds, before rushing back to Asia. After nearly a decade as a professional writer and editor, Freya set up Giles Publications in response to the region’s growing need for quality content. In 2014, the company opened its Singapore office, and in 2017, it rebranded to The Giles Agency.

Freya is a strong believer in the power of effective communication to transform businesses. Today, she delights in sharing her learnings through Giles’ range of communications courses, as well as appearances at industry and association gatherings. Freya writes for both work and pleasure, and harbours a lifelong love of literature. Her dream is to spend six months holed up in one of her favourite spots, writing her novel. However, her eclectic tastes make that spot and the subject of the novel rather difficult to predict.
