Mr. Teddy Liu
Mr. Liu is the Founder and CEO of the visionary social venture platform MentorsHub which is committed to build a sustainable and scalable mentorship platform for all youngsters who are ready to contribute to society upon their graduating from universities.
Prior to founding the MentorsHub, Mr. Liu had been working in New World Development Company Limited (“New World”), a mega size listed property developer group in Hong Kong for over 31 years, overseeing different corporate functions including accounting and financial management, internal audit function focusing on corporate governance, risk management, and compliance to legal and regulatory requirements.
On the management services front, he had helped driving the group’s innovation process with setting the culture as the key and realizing innovations through a structured innovation process by engaging all key stakeholders within and beyond the group. He was also responsible for planning, promoting and managing the group’s corporate strategy, management system, process improvement and business and operational reviews.
Mr. Liu had been the financial controller and a director for Hip Hing Construction Company Limited and its group companies (subsidiary companies of New World) from 1993 to 2001, and the financial controller for the listed NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS”) focusing on the services section encompassing Hip Hing Group and FSE Engineering Group (the then NWS Engineering Group) and other service provider companies under NWS from 2001 to 2004. From 2005, Mr. Liu focused on risk management (financial and operational risks) for NWS, and subsequently took up the Head of Group Audit and Risk Management for the listed New World Group since 2010 until his retirement in early 2024. Prior to joining New World, he joined the PwC in 1988 as external financial auditor.
Mr. Liu holds the Certified Public Accountants designation and is a member of various professional bodies in the field of accounting, company secretary and taxation. He is re-elected as a Council Member for the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants for a term of two years from 2023 to 2025. He also holds a Juris Doctor degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MBA degree from The University of Hong Kong. Mr. Liu is currently an Adjunct Professor in CityU Academy of Innovation and a part-time lecturer in the HK PolyU.
With diversified knowledge and experience, Mr. Liu has been invited to be guest speakers for numerous education institutions and organizations over years, including Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Lingnan University, PolyU HK, Heng Seng University, Hong Kong Vocational Training Council (HKVTC), Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA), Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), Hong Kong Jockey Club, Microsoft HK, HSBC, etc.
