Objectives

The objective of this two-day workshop is to enable participants to:

  • Understand the common pitfalls and challenges in business presentations.
  • Learn a systematic approach to designing persuasive presentations.
  • Enhance presentation effectiveness by addressing audience needs and expectations.
  • Gather and process information effectively to support data-driven decisions.
  • Develop logical and compelling arguments to support recommendations.
  • Create visually engaging presentations using proven design principles.
  • Deliver presentations that captivate and influence audiences.
Methodology

This workshop combines theory and practice, with a focus on interactive learning and hands-on application. The training materials provided include the Whatzyourpoint Training Manual, Pro Forma, and PPT Templates.

The first day has a theory-to-practice ratio of 50/50, allowing participants to understand the key concepts and frameworks.

The second day shifts to a practical focus with a ratio of 10/90, emphasizing application and skill-building. The workshop is instructor-led, providing guidance and feedback throughout the design and delivery process.

DAY 1

  • Module 1 Starting with the end in mind. Know your objective and completely be audience-centric
    • Know your audience (needs & wants)
    • Desired Outcome (what exactly do you want you audience to think and to do as a result of your presentation?)
    • Overall Message (answering the WIIFM question)
  • Module 2 Crafting a storyline. Engage your audience from start to finish
    • How to stage your presentation using 4 recommended storylines:
      • Sharing, Update, Briefing, Approval/Endorsement
  • Module 3 Developing a persuasive structure to get your message across with least resistance
    • The basic “pyramidal” structure
    • Group of Reasons following the MECE Principle
    • Case study (optional)

DAY 2

  • Individual Presentation & Coaching (6 participants maximum per half-day)
  • 30 minutes per person
  • With slide-by-slide feedback
  • Presentation requirement: 7 minutes and 7 slides
  • Feedback: 70% on design/structure and 30% on delivery
